CMC Markets Appoints Marshall as CFO

UK-headquartered derivatives dealer CMC Markets has appointed Euan Marshall as its chief financial officer and as a member of its board of directors, effective November 1. Previously, Marshall served as head of finance and has been the interim CFO since June. He succeeds Grant Foley, who has stepped down from his role.

Marshall joined CMC Markets in 2011 as head of financial planning and analysis. The firm has also appointed Matthew Lewis, CMC’s head of Asia Pacific and Canada to its board.

Commenting on the appointments, Peter Cruddas, chief executive officer, said: “I am delighted that Euan and Matthew are joining the board of CMC. Euan has been with CMC for eight years, most recently as group head of finance, and has made a significant contribution since taking up the interim CFO role in June this year.”

Victory Park Capital appoints CFO

Investment management company Victory Park Capital has appointed Olibia Stamatoglou as chief financial officer, effective October 28. He succeeds Jeff Schneider who is promoted to chief operating officer.

“I am excited to have Olibia join VPC and believe she is well positioned to lead the finance and accounting team in further developing operational excellence and a strong control environment across the firm,” said Richard Levy, founder and chief executive officer of VPC.

Stamatoglou will be responsible for finance and accounting functions of the company. She brings over 20 years of industry experience, having recently served as vice president of finance at Valor Equity Partner and chief operating and financial officer of First National Assets.

“We have been searching for the right candidate to transition oversight of the accounting and finance responsibilities and continue to build on the strong institutional foundation that VPC has developed over the last twelve years,” said Schneider.

Paragon appoints asset finance director for Scotland

Specialist lender and savings bank Paragon has announced that the appointment of Fraser Tilley as regional asset finance director for Scotland. Tilley will be working along with regional director Hilary Carberry to expand the asset finance proposition in Scotland.

Commenting on his appointment, Tilley said: “From my initial meeting with Paragon I was impressed by how progressive and focused they are as a business, across all areas, when delivering the most appropriate solution for the customer.”

Ken McKeating, sales director of asset finance at Paragon, said: “It’s great to have Fraser on board with us at Paragon. His wealth of asset finance knowledge, alongside his regional sales experience will be hugely beneficial in growing our proposition across Scotland.”

Concirrus appoints new chief financial officer

London-headquartered insurtech Concirrus has appointed Adrian Turner as chief financial officer. In his new role, Turner will report to chief executive officer Andrew Yeoman.

“I am really excited to be joining Concirrus at a time of rapid expansion on the back of so much customer success,” said Turner.

Turner brings more than two decades of industry experience to the role and joins from Guidewire, where he most recently served as international finance director. He has 20 years of experience in the global insurtech and technology markets. Turner has had leadership roles at AgencyPort and was part of the executive team responsible for its sale to Xchanging.

Yeoman said: “At a crucial time when technology advances are driving a new agenda for insurance companies, Adrian’s deep financial expertise, experience in the insurance industry and global leadership skills will be instrumental. Adrian joins a talented team that blends the very best of insurance, technology, and data expertise.”

Middleton appoints chief operating officer

Newcastle-based investment firm Middleton Enterprise has appointed David Alprovich as new chief operating officer. 

"We have been fortunate enough to back some great entrepreneurs and enable them to grow successful businesses," said Alprovich.

Prior to joining Enterprise Middleton, Alprovich worked at Conviction Investment Partners as head of research, and Brewin Dolphin as investment administrator. Middleton Enterprises invests throughout the UK. Its portfolio comprises of listed companies, private equity and venture capital investments including One Utility Bill, Refract and Atom Bank.
