Sophis, a leading provider of cross-asset, front-to-back portfolio and risk management solutions, today announced that it has been voted number one global vendor for equity trading systems in the annual Risk Technology Rankings. The Risk Technology Rankings are based on thousands of votes from banks, hedge funds, pension funds and insurance companies. They grade vendors according to functionality, usability, performance, return on investment and reliability.
As well as taking the top spot in equity trading systems, Sophis was voted into ninth place in the Rankingsâ overall list of vendors, number six in overall pricing and analytics, fifth in commodities pricing and analytics, number seven in overall trading and tenth in overall enterprise-wide risk management (excluding operational risk).
Pascal Xatart, CEO of Sophis, commented: âSophis performs consistently well in the areas of equity trading and commodities pricing, and we are thrilled to have this performance recognised in the Risk Technology Rankings 2010. We are particularly pleased to be voted into four further top 10 overall positions by our customers, who play a vital part in shaping the direction of our RISQUE and VALUE platforms.â
According to Risk, âThe world of risk management and derivatives trading technology has experienced something of a transformation over the last couple of years. Before the financial crisis, specialist trading and risk management systems vendors, including some small niche suppliers, tended to focus on one or a few asset classes or risk factors. Now, the focus is on integration, consolidation and cross-asset support, as well as risk aggregation and real-time analysis.â
Risk polled thousands of buy-side and sell-side organisations for its Technology Rankings 2010 and asked respondents to vote for the technology vendors that provide the best product offering across a number of categories, including enterprise risk management, risk capital calculation, front-to-back office trading systems and pricing and analytics.
