BPC Banking Technologies and Banca Transilvania Introduce Western Union Transfers Through Atm´s

New service offers a convenient way of sending and receiving money transfers to Banca Transilvania customers

BPC Banking Technologies, the leading provider of Open System e-payment solutions for the global financial industry, today announced the launch of Western Union money transfers via the Banca Transilvania ATM network; the first such project in Central Europe..

Romania is mainly a “receiving market” for money transfers but there is also a strong demand for domestic and international payments. Banca Transilvania, one of Romania’s most innovative banks now offers its customers the opportunity to send and receive consumer to consumer payments. using its country-wide ATM network as a convenient 24/7 channel.

Banca Transilvania has been running its payments business on SmartVista since 2009 and has, together with BPC and Western Union, upgraded its payments infrastructure to support the new service. Now Banca Transilvania’s customers may send and receive Western Union money transfers at any of the Bank’s ATMs across the country As an additional service, Banca Transilvania’s customers may also view the history of their money transfers on the ATM screen. Transfers can be made by using bank cards or cash. Funds can be picked up at any of the more than 385.000 Western Union® branded Agent locations in over 200 countries and territories around the globe.
