ClusterSeven Presents to International Body of Experts Focused on Spreadsheet Risk Management

London and New York - 16 July 2010

Discusses how continuous validation eliminates errors and reduces operational risk

ClusterSeven, an international provider of Enterprise Spreadsheet Management® solutions that enhance risk management, compliance and business efficiency for financial institutions and Fortune 500 financial reporting divisions, is conducting a presentation regarding the role of continuous data validation at the annual conference of the European Spreadsheet Risks Interest Group (EuSpRIG), the internationally recognized expert body on spreadsheet management and control, on July 16, at the University of Greenwich, London.

Ralph Baxter, CEO of ClusterSeven, is presenting, “Transparency, Control and Opportunity for End-User Computing: The Role of Continuous Validation,” which focuses on the role of spreadsheets in supporting the information supply chain. In particular he will show how organizations can use automatic validation to rapidly distinguish good and bad user activity within a spreadsheet without having to search an entire audit trail.

EuSpRIG’s annual conference, which provides a forum for researchers, practitioners, trainers, vendors, consultants and auditors, focuses on the theme of “Practical steps to protect organizations from out-of-control spreadsheets” on July 15-16 at the University of Greenwich, London.

“Many businesses have invested considerable resources to ensure that their spreadsheets are correct. Our presentation is designed to show how organizations can automatically confirm that they are still correct after every user interaction, without having to check every single change that has been made,” said Baxter. “As recently identified by the Institute of Internal Auditors and FINRA spreadsheet management has become a hot topic but it can only be realistically achieved if users are presented with intelligent alerts.”
