According to the investment bank, the executive will relocate to Singapore to take up the new post.
The banker has transferred from the marketing division for Citi Europe and will report to Nadir Mahmud, Asia head of FX local markets trading and risk treasury, Finance Asia reported.
Mr Mahmud told the news provider: âWe are seeing increased demand from our clients across the FX and local markets business in Asia-Pacific and [Perret-Greenâs] appointment underlines our commitment to provide clients with the most innovative ideas, products and services across our regional platform.â
Prior to working for Citi, the new FX chief was employed by Mizuho Capital Markets as a strategist while he also has experience of working as a bonds trader for Merrill Lynch and JPMorgan & Chase.
The investment bank recently appointed Christian Lusted as a director for hedge fund sales.
According to Bloomberg, Citi hired the new employee from BNP Paribas, where he worked from 2006.
