Patni Computer Systems Limited (Patni) (BSE: 532517, NSE: PATNI, NYSE: PTI), a leading global IT and BPO services provider, today announced that it has secured a seven-figure contract over three years to provide managed services around some of Scandinaviaâs core insurance platforms.
The Codan Group is part of the insurance giant RSA Group and operates in Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. Codan invited five leading outsourcing companies including Patni to bid for the application management contract in September 2009, shortlisted three vendors in March 2010 and made its final decision to appoint Patni in June.
Frank Andersen, CIO at Codan, said: âWe chose Patni because of its in-depth understanding of the insurance sector and the applications that we use to run our business. The team were very open to listening to our specific concerns and we had confidence that they were dedicated to providing a first class service. In particular, we appreciated the involvement of senior executives in our negotiations and Patniâs early investment in both the relationship and the region.â
Derek Kemp, President, EMEA at Patni said: âWe are delighted that Codan chose Patni to provide managed services around some of its core applications and that it also sees us playing an important role in key transformation initiatives within the organisation. This was a highly competitive bid but we were able to demonstrate our commitment to the client, strong understanding of the insurance sector and our plans for the Scandinavian region.â
