Vela ATM (the Republic of South Africa) specialises in ATM outsourcing. In 2008 it embarked on deploying a large-scale ATM network in African âshebeensâ, of which there are currently over 27, 000 in South Africa. Within the project BPC implemented a SmartVista based ATM device handler connecting the host to Nedbank, one of the largest acquiring banks of the South African Republic
At present the SmartVista solution successfully operates in Vela ATM providing broad opportunities for Wincor-Nixdorf and NCR ATMs monitoring and management and for their interaction with the Nedbank processing center. The exceptional performance, scalability and availability of SmartVista, and the absence of any technical or functional restrictions for the deployment of a broad ATM network make the installed solution universal and ensures high potential for the further business development. In addition, the solution supports self-service devices of different models and brands, uses a high technology system of fraud monitoring and prevention, and allows for the remote ATM management with the use of a user-friendly web-interface.
