DISTRIBUTION TECHNOLOGY LAUNCHES 'DP ELEMENTS' FOR TAILORED, MODULAR FINANCIAL PLANNING TOOLS

Component-based financial and investment planning technology enables online and desktop access for increased ease at point-of-sale

London, 15 September 2005 – Distribution Technology Limited, a leading provider of financial and investment planning solutions, today extended its proven product set with the launch of DP Elements. DP Elements provides clients with access to more than 200 business layer and user interface components, available within Dynamic Planner®, the company’s technology platform. DP Elements enables clients to build and customise their own unique financial and investment planning tools according to their requirements and desired advisor experience without incurring the high-level costs associated with bespoke customisation.

This latest solution from Distribution Technology underlines the company’s commitment to delivering holistic and highly flexible wealth management solutions to meet the needs of its existing and rapidly growing client base. Distribution Technology’s solutions can be easily configured and integrated into client’s existing systems, delivering competitive business benefits enterprise wide, in as little as three months.

DP Elements enables life and pension firms, wrap platforms, wealth managers and banks to create unique user experiences, analytical approaches and advice processes for their own communities of financial advisers. If used together, the suite of components provides a holistic view of clients’ financial situations and dramatically speeds up the advice process, helping firms increase their sales productivity and manage their compliance risk. DP Elements includes customisable functions such as risk profiling, asset allocation, stochastic forecasting and advanced portfolio construction for consistent and high quality financial planning. User interface components include page layouts, graphing components and report and suitability templates, all of which talk to the underlying financial planning models and compliance rules.

Newly appointed head of implementation, Alan Carter, who brings with him more than 25 years of project management experience within the IT and financial services industry will be responsible for all major client implementations and driving the delivery of DP Elements.

Alan Carter, head of implementation, Distribution Technology, comments: "The launch of DP Elements is an exciting advancement in adviser tools. Unlike other solutions available on the market, DP Elements provides a comprehensive range of ‘plug-and-play’ components, from which client-specific, bespoke solutions can be built cost effectively."

Ben Goss, managing director, Distribution Technology, comments: "In addition to the launch of DP Elements, we have extended our financial and investment planning technology into the Windows environment to enable both on- and off-line, laptop computer-based fact finding capabilities. This approach means that clients’ advisors will soon be able to benefit from the ease of accessing their applications offline at the point-of-sale.

Goss continues: "The development of DP Elements and our new offline fact finding capabilities are paramount to ensure we continually meet the needs of our existing and rapidly growing client base. Clients can now get the best of both worlds with the richness of the holistic analysis supported by the Dynamic Planner platform, but also the portability of offline access."
