LONDON - Microsoft today announced the appointment of Gordon Ejsmond-Frey as Insurance Industry Specialist, Microsoft EMEA Financial Services. In this new role, Gordon will be responsible for defining and articulating Microsoft's strategy for the insurance industry across EMEA. This role involves working closely with key European, Middle Eastern and African customers, partners and opinion formers in all sectors of the insurance industry to deliver Microsoft's vision for the future of enterprise technology.
Gordon joins Microsoft from Misys plc, a leading provider of solutions for the insurance and banking markets, where he was Director for Multi Channel Solutions. During this time he was responsible for wireless and Internet based solutions, where he gained a strong understanding of collaborative solutions, driving partnerships with SWIFT, strategic System Integrators and leading global finance customers.
Gordon's previous roles include that of managing a team of 35 consultants in the Business Technology Office of McKinsey , where he specialised in strategic IT advice and solution implementation for a range of blue chip insurance and retail banking clients. Prior to this, Gordon worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he led the insurance and asset management IT consulting practice, working for a range of European clients.
Paul Shetler, Director of Financial Services, Microsoft EMEA comments: "We are delighted that Gordon has joined our team. With the insurance industry currently in a state of extreme fragmentation, Gordon has been brought on board to assist our insurance customers in using technology to connect the insurance value chain and move to a new collaborative business model. Ultimately, this will result in the improved customer service and faster response times, whilst driving down the costs incurred by the industry."
