LONDON, 19 JANUARY 2004 - 2003 proved to be a boom year for applications service specialist, ZEDA, which continues to show healthy grow during the economic downturn. In addition to an enviable existing customer base - including BT, Boots Opticians, Dixons and Telewest - ZEDA acquired 19 new clients during the 2003 calendar year, with Alliance & Leicester and Martin Currie Bank amongst them.
In September 2003, ZEDA announced a major new initiative, with the launch of the ZEDA IT Testing Audit Service. The result of market consultation, the new service provides affordable, expert testing for UK businesses on high risk areas that have the biggest potential impact on business continuity, and already has several major companies signed up.
On the recruitment front, ZEDA hired nine staff in 2003 to support this growth and is continuing its campaign into 2004. This figure includes three senior managers and directors who have been taken on to develop existing business units and drive the development of innovative new services. ZEDA now has major offices in Nottingham, Hull and Stirling, and plans to open a fourth site in The City of London in the first quarter of this year.
Bill Douglas, Managing Director for ZEDA, looks forward to more of the same in 2004: "It's been a strong year for us, underlining the real value which we deliver for our client base. We certainly aim to continue and improve this growth throughout the next 12 months. Significantly for us, ZEDA is in the final stages of developing new market propositions in the areas of CRM and business intelligence, which we'll be launching shortly. This will expand the range of services we offer to clients, improving still further the quality and depth of expertise for which we're known throughout the industry."
