On the morning of 23 January 2002, CityCompass is delighted to be organising
a conference on the structure of European clearing and settlement.
The event will be chaired by Sir Brian Jenkins, Deputy Chairman of Barclays
Bank and President of the Institute of Management, City of London Branch.
Panelists will include:

* Iain Saville, Chief Executive, CRESTCo
* Jeff Smith, Chief Executive Officer of EuroCCP, part of DTCC
The event will start at 10.00am for 10.30, and there will be the opportunity
to discuss the issues raised with friends and colleagues over an informal
buffet lunch from 12.30 onwards.
Barclays Bank is generously hosting this event at its headquarters in
Lombard Street, and all the proceeds will go to two charities directly
involved with the aftermath of 11 September.
The World Trade Centre Disaster Fund will provide relief to the families and
dependants of victims in the US. Barclays will raise Â£1m for this fund from
employees and from the charitable funds of both the Barclays Group and
Barclays Capital. Merlin, Medical Emergency Relief International, provides
health care in many problem areas around the world, notably at the moment on
the northern Afghan border, where it is the biggest aid agency in place. We
