The new Outlook-integrated version broadens the appeal of Hydra3, says PMG, allowing team members to use their familiar work environment while participating in project management tasks. In addition, the integration means users will no longer need to maintain two diaries or task lists.
Hydra3 is PMG’s latest version of their programme management tool, which was
released last month. The system is designed to harness a company’s scarce resources around the world and use them most effectively. Hydra3 challenges traditional project management tools that are task-centric: PMG’s solution
is resource-centric, which overcomes the shortcomings of software such as
MS-Project, says the developer.
The integration with Outlook, available immediately, publishes a team member’s agreed tasks (both project and non-project) into the Outlook Task List and Calendar. The user can then view and update the Hydra information within Outlook, alongside their other work. Full support for Outlook’s Journal
