Vendorcom's Future of Payments Conference

28 June 2018 - 28 June 2018

Vendorcom's Future of Payments Conferences examine what lies on or just over the horizon in payments. These are primarily aimed at ensuring all stakeholders in the Payments Community have visibility of what’s new and what is shaping the future direction of payments. Vendorcom members will hear from key influencers, standards-setting bodies, and organisations whose innovative approaches provide challenging, informative and inspirational insights.

Members and delegates will find that Vendorcom’s Future of Payments Conferences are a source of independent, authoritative, coherent information on which to base effective product development and marketing strategies. The Conferences also present an opportunity to find potential partners from amongst the many traditional and innovative payments solutions providers who attend, as well as meeting potential customers from a wide range of target market sectors.

Our hot topics for June include:

  • Customer Experience

     – whether trying to win the battle on the high street or online, all merchants acknowledge that achieving the right customer experience is vital! UX expert, Chui Chui Tan of Bayo Global, will explore the role payments can and should play in ensuring that each experience is a positive one.

  • Open Banking

     – is coming, like a tidal wave! Find out what you need to know to manage that tidal wave, from TPP approvals to eIDAS, as Brendan Jones, CCO at Konsentus helps us to navigate what is to come!

  • The Australian Payment Landscape

     – 3 years after swapping the European payments scene for that of Australia, David Lunt, CEO at Aethon Global, will share his insights into what’s going on down under and what can we learn from it.

  • Innovation through Collaboration

     – The Open Payments Cloud creates an environment in which all parties – financial institutions, payment providers and developers alike – can collaborate to develop, deploy and run payment applications. We’ll learn more about what this means for the future of payment innovation from General Manager, Paul Love Twelves

  • 3D Secure 2.0 and Secure Customer Authentication

     – SCA under PSD2 is as fundamental a shift in payments as Chip & PIN was in its day! As we hurtle towards the 2019 PSD2 deadlines, will 3D Secure 2.0 prove to be the panacea that some believe it to be. We’re delighted that Bastien Latge, Director of Technology at EMVCo is able to join us for this presentation.

  • Cash in a Digital World

     –

Despite the neo-fintech hype, cash continues to be an essential option for merchants to offer consumers. When talking about the future of cash, if we substitute ‘less cash’ for ‘cashless’ we are closer to the reality rather than the hype! However, as digital payments continue to grow and cash usage contracts, merchants are - perhaps counterintuitively - spending a lot more time considering how to make cash work more cost effectively! Vendorcom has brought together radical thinkers with cash solutions providers and digital innovators to develop a campaign to make cash make sense. I'll be leading a panel session where I will be joined by several cash heavy weights, including

    David Fagleman, from

    Cash Services,

    James Harris from

    Volumatic, and

    Graham Mott from

    LINK.

  • New Payment System Operator

    – as the NPSO begins to bed in, Toby Sheldon, Director of Communications will update us as to their key areas of focus and progress made to date.
