Spire Payments, one of the world’s leading payment solution providers, has again demonstrated its market leading mobile payments experience and expertise by being the first ever to obtain certification for an mPOS device from the “Groupement des Cartes Bancaires” (GIE CB), the French payment system regulator, as part of the Nepting payment solution.
This certification was achieved with the collaboration of Nepting, the innovative payment platform provider, utilising Spire Payments’ highly secure mPOS device: the PosMate Smart. This pocket sized, chip & PIN SRED-compliant secure mobile payment device meets the complex security and certification requirements expected of a leading mobile payment acceptance solution. The PosMatetm Smart has been tightly integrated with Nepting’s payment platform, a platform that supports not only secure mPOS devices interfacing with tablets and smart phones, but also traditional POS terminals and e-Commerce channels in order to provide a highly secure PCI DSS-compliant omnichannel payment platform. Spire Payments’ strategic alliance with Nepting targets merchants’ and consumers’ growing need for a wide variety of payment devices able to address a highly networked omnichannel payment market characterized by increasingly sophisticated mobile devices.
Martine Aubry, Nepting’s founder and CEO, stated “This is truly a major achievement for the French card payment market and has only been made possible by the close partnership between ourselves and Spire Payments. Integrating the PosMate Smart with our payment platform has been a seamless exercise thanks to Spire Payments’ powerful API.”
Kazem Aminaee, CEO and President of Spire Payments added, “This is a significant milestone for Spire Payments and represents another decisive step in our expansion in the global mobile payments market. At present we have shipped over 80,000 chip & PIN mPOS devices deployed in over 20 countries, thereby reaffirming Spire Payments’ position as a global leader in mobile payments, and at Cartes 2014 we announced no less than 2 more mPOS devices, the SPm2 and the SPm20, to reinforce our position as market leader. ”
