Syntel Named One of the Top 50 BPO Providers

TROY, Mich.-- April 27, 2005 -- Syntel, Inc. (NASDAQ: SYNT), a global information technology services company, announced today that it has been named one of the top 50 providers of managed outsourcing services in the new edition of The Black Book of Outsourcing.

Managed outsourcing services, also known as business process outsourcing or BPO, refers to the outsourcing of "back office" processes to an external service provider in order to achieve cost savings and efficiency improvements.

Syntel was ranked #28 on the list of the top 50 BPO Providers, ahead of several industry heavyweights. The rankings were calculated based on customer satisfaction surveys, employee surveys, independent vendor comparisons, client performance ratings and reports by consulting firms.
